Sculpture garden & contemporary fine art on historic Canyon Road

Grand Opening Reception:  Friday, March 13th, 2020  5-7 pm

Winterowd Fine Art has recently expanded, adding a second location at 600 Canyon Road. Named Kay Contemporary Art, this new gallery is housed in one of the oldest buildings on Canyon, dating back to the 1760’s. This remarkable space features 2 ft. thick, dark adobe walls, 3 fireplaces and brightly-colored, turquoise window frames. There are two, well established gardens behind the building, perfect to showcase sculpture.  Karla Winterowd explains “Contemporary Art looks so fresh amongst the visually rich, historic district of Canyon Road.  This location has always charmed me and we were compelled to expand our breath of artists.”

Kay Contemporary Art represents mostly local artists. Kevin Box and his striking, origami sculpture formed in bronze, stainless steel and aluminum bring both drama and whimsy. Kate Rivers creates intriguing canvases featuring ephemera. Rick Stevens, working in oil and pastels paints ethereal landscapes and abstracts. Francoise Barnes’s joyful, mixed media paintings reveal her background in textile art quilts. Ceramic artist, Sheryl Zacharia reflects her interaction with the visual world. Susan Pasquarelli is a master watercolorist. Nathaneal Gray paints landscapes with a heavily applied palette knife. Jessica Pisano’s oil paintings combine the abstract with traditionally rendered trees and birds.
