KAY CONTEMPORARY ART announces an exhibition of new paintings by Kate Rivers.
Kate Rivers, an avid reader and lover of books, constructs her unique collages by sewing book spines and found ephemera into various patterns and abstractions . She works with color and texture creating large wall pieces sewn together with metallic thread on an industrial sewing machine and mounts these large collages on to canvas. Her newest body of work reference land and cityscapes. The artist draws inspiration from the high desert and mountains vistas near her home in Santa Fe, NM, as well as city scenes from her extensive travels to New York, Chicago and London.
